Resource Overview:
Useful client feedback is not automatically a testimonial, a verified result, or permission to publish. The Client Feedback and Permission Pack provides a controlled process for asking better questions, preserving the client’s original meaning, distinguishing opinion from evidence, and deciding what each response can responsibly support.
Use the pack to plan the request, record and classify the response, select potential quotations, define attribution, obtain explicit publication permission, and preserve the final approval in a reusable record. The result is feedback that can support improvement, credible public proof, or a later case study without turning a client’s experience into a stronger claim than the evidence allows.
Best Used When
A completed engagement, defined phase, or meaningful implementation period gives a client enough direct experience to provide useful feedback, and the business needs to collect, interpret, preserve, or obtain permission to use that feedback responsibly.

Why This Matters
Receiving useful feedback does not automatically create permission to publish it, and a positive client statement does not automatically verify a business result. Separating the request, original response, interpretation, wording, attribution, and publication permission protects the meaning of what the client actually said and prevents a useful statement from becoming an unsupported public claim.
ACHIEVEMENT
What You Will Complete
Feedback Purpose and Request Plan
Define why the feedback is needed, who should be asked, the appropriate timing and format, and a neutral set of questions that allows the client to respond accurately.
Original Feedback Record
Preserve the client’s original response, source, date, relevant context, and any follow-up clarification before summarizing or adapting it.
Feedback Classification
Distinguish client opinion, client-reported facts, evidence leads, information verified elsewhere, and statements that should not be used.
Quotation and Permission Record
Define the exact quotation, attribution, identity, assets, metrics, publication channels, restrictions, and approval conditions the client has explicitly accepted.
Client Feedback and Permission Record
Consolidate the useful feedback, approved public material, permission conditions, evidence leads, and next actions into a controlled record for future use.

What's Inside
The Feedback and Permission System
Separate five decisions that are often collapsed into one request: request, record, interpret, approve, and use.
Feedback Request Planning
Decide whether the client and timing are appropriate, choose the response format, define the purpose, and build a neutral request without asking for praise.
Core and Optional Feedback Questions
Ask about the starting condition, experience, implementation, change, and client perspective, with additional modules and non-leading follow-up questions where needed.
Original Feedback Record
Preserve the client’s language and relevant clarification before deciding what the response means or how it may be used.
Feedback Classification
Determine whether a statement is client opinion, client-reported fact, an evidence lead, verified elsewhere, or unsuitable for use.
Quotation, Attribution, and Permission Controls
Select potential quotations, define attribution, separate feedback from publication permission, and record approval for wording, identity, assets, metrics, and channels.
Reusable Records and Client Scripts
Complete the Client Feedback Record, Permission Record, final quote approval record, and reusable request and approval scripts.
Worked Example and Next-Step Decision
Follow the fictional Northfield example through request, classification, and permission, then decide whether the resulting feedback remains internal, becomes a quotation, creates an evidence lead, or moves into a case study.
This resource is useful for
Businesses that want honest client feedback without asking for a testimonial disguised as research.
Businesses that already have a useful client comment and need to preserve its original source and meaning.
Businesses that need explicit approval for a quotation, attribution, asset, metric, or publication channel.
Businesses that need to distinguish client opinion from information that should be verified elsewhere.
Businesses that want a controlled feedback record that can later support a case study or wider proof inventory.

This resource is not designed for
Businesses looking for scripts designed primarily to manufacture praise or a “great testimonial.”
Situations where the client cannot freely decline public use without affecting access, support, goodwill, or the relationship.
Engagements with an unresolved dispute, complaint, refund, or material service issue that should be resolved before requesting public feedback.
Businesses that need a complete evidence ledger, outcome-attribution analysis, case narrative, or publication-ready case study rather than a feedback and permission system.
Anyone seeking legal, privacy, recording-consent, advertising, testimonial, or data-protection advice.
How it works
1. Request
Define why the feedback is needed, who should be asked, when the request is appropriate, and how the client can respond accurately.
2. Record
Preserve the client’s original wording, source, date, context, and relevant clarification before interpreting or adapting the response.
3. Interpret
Decide whether each useful statement is opinion, client-reported information, an evidence lead, verified elsewhere, or unsuitable for use.
4. Approve
Decide whether the record remains internal, becomes an approved quotation, supplies an evidence lead, or moves into the Case Study Builder.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a testimonial-request template?
No. The pack is designed to collect useful, accurate feedback rather than lead a client toward praise. Feedback may help improve delivery, document the client’s perspective, identify an evidence lead, or eventually support public proof. Those purposes are kept separate so that a positive comment is not automatically treated as a testimonial.
When should I use this pack?
Use it after a completed engagement, defined project phase, or meaningful implementation period when the client can respond from direct experience. It is particularly useful when you need structured feedback, clarification of a useful client comment, or explicit approval for quotations, attribution, metrics, assets, or publication channels.
Does receiving positive feedback give me permission to publish it?
No. Feedback and publication permission are separate decisions. The pack helps you preserve the client’s original wording, determine what the statement can actually support, and obtain explicit approval for the wording, identity, attribution, assets, metrics, and channels you intend to use.
What will I have when I finish?
You will have a defined feedback purpose, a request plan and neutral question set, the original response and relevant clarifications, a classification of what useful statements can support, approved quotations and usage boundaries, and a completed Client Feedback and Permission Record.
Is this the same as The Case Study Builder?
No. This pack controls the collection, interpretation, approval, and use of client feedback. It does not determine full case-study eligibility, build the complete evidence record, calibrate outcome attribution, or write and maintain a case study. Use The Case Study Builder when one engagement has enough supported evidence to justify that larger process.
